Funding Opportunities

The AUS provides funding opportunities to various student organizations on campus. If you or your group are currently seeking funding, please drop by the AUS office to speak with Marlene Benavides, the VP Finance. All of the AUS funding sources involve a rigorous and competitive application process. If you already know the desired source of fund of your project, please download one of the forms below along with an AUSB template and submit it to the AUS via email.

All of the applications are reviewed by the Financial Management Committee. The FMC meets every other Wednesday at 5:30 pm. In order to have your application considered as soon as possible, please email your application along with its AUSB Sunday night at 5pm, before FMC. Any applications sent after this will not be considered until the next FMC, two weeks later.

All applications can be emailed to finance@ausmcgill.com

If you are unsure which fund applies to your group/project, have a look at the descriptions below:

Journal Fund:

Many groups on campus publish their own journals and magazines. They provide an opportunity for students to showcase their papers and artwork, and gives us some alternative reading for when we need a break from out textbooks and coursepacks. Printing these days can be quite expensive, this fund is meant to allow groups the opportunity to publish their journals. Please keep in mind that the FMC can only fund a maximum of 75 copies for a journal. Although we encourage you to seek other funding opportunities in order to publish more copies.

Supplementary Departmental Fund:

This fund is strictly for departmental associations under the AUS. Sometimes departmentals wish to hold events that go beyond their allocations. This fund is meant to “supplement” their current allocations. Priority is given to applications from small departments, as well as applications for events hosted by multiple departments.

Special Projects Fund:

This fund is for any group that is not a departmental association. There are many groups on campus that benefit Arts students, and the AUS is more than happy to fund opportunities that will benefit our members.
